Preparations for the Harvest Festival 2020 celebrations, scheduled on the 7^th Feb 2020 at the ICSK, Salmiya campus, was kickstarted on Friday 25^th October 2019 after the Holy Communion service. The formal inauguration of the HF20 coupons was conducted by Rev. Abraham Thomas (Convention Speaker) in presence of our Vicar Rev. Jiji Mathew. A poster size replica of the HF20 coupon was handed over for inauguration by the Coupons Team convener Mr. Biju George Thomas. Harvest Festival Joint Convener Thomas Abraham, Eapen Thomas, Renji Varghese & Office Bearers attended the function.

The HF20 General Convener Mr. Christy Thomas briefed the congregation on the following main objectives of this year’s Harvest Festival.

1) Buy and distribute critical cancer care medicine for poor cancer patients.

2) Provide free kidney dialysis sessions for poor patients at Kattanam & Kumbanad hospitals.

3) Support construction of a house for a sick evangelist of Mar Thoma Sabha.

The coupons are planned as ‘HF’ coupons and not as a ‘raffle’ coupons for the lucky draw alone, although there are attractive prizes offered through raffle. Cash receipts will be issued for all coupon purchases, which unlike in the previous years, will allow to reflect the amount contributed against each family in the annual parish report.  Further, each 50 KD coupon purchase shall provide one entry each to a special draw planned to encourage the coupon purchases. (100 KD shall offer 2 chances in this special draw and so forth). Thirty families had volunteered and bought 100 KD HF coupons on the inauguration day and Jiji Mathew Achen honored the families by giving an appreciation letter.
